Episode 2 (Crystania anime)

Resurrection of the Gods’ King (神王復活, shin'ō fukkatsu) is the second episode of the Legend of Crystania: The Chaos Ring OVA series. The episode was aired on 22 January 1997.

Synopsis[]

　Garudi and his henchmen have burned down the Butterfly town and destroyed all the Chaos Rings. Only one ring remains, the one Sheru possesses. A report comes in that the Bell of Wakening has been located on the Black Island, but Garudi's men have been unable to ring it, because whenever someone touches a part of the ring the person crystalizes. Garudi is upset, because Muha did not inform him of any of this. He orders his mind to find the Protectors of the Seal to find out how he can ring the bell.

　At the Meeting Grounds (会合の地, kaigō no ji) the gods of Crystania have gathered because the Bell of Wakening has been ringing and some seals have come undone. The god Bruza wonders how this is possible, because they protected the Bell so that no Crystanian could ever ring it. Another god, Rumiss, reminds everyone foreigners have been living in Crystania and the spell that protects the bell does not apply to them.

　Redon and the others have reached the Village of the Sealed, and descend to the Cave of the Sealed underneath it. Once there they hear the Bell of Wakening in the distance and Protectors of the Seal suddenly begin disappearing, meaning the seal is coming undone. Meanwhile Garudi has reached the Village of the Sealed, but learns that someone has already been ringing the Bell of Wakening. He hurries to the Black Island. Boakes and Jenoba follow him. Redon and the others find Aderishia, but are unable to free her. Suddenly, during another episode of seals coming undone, Irim gets possessed and he tells everyone their destination is the Black Island. In one of the seals the group spots an enormous dragon. With all the seals breaking, Nasare believes it's only a matter of time before Aderishia's seal breaks. Irim leads Redon, Nasare and Kirim to the Black Island. Kwairde heads to Dayton castle where they expect Aderishia to be revived.

Rumiss (1) (Crystania OVA)

Rumiss suspects Barbas is behind the recent disturbance in Crystania.

　At Dayton castle Brasto receives a report that Fang of the Animal forces are approaching. Raifan is trying to sneak inside the castle. At the Meeting Grounds reports come in that the buttefly people have been annihilated and that the Village of the Sealed and the Sacred World have been attacked. The Gods suspect Barbas as they have senses his presence getting stronger.

　At the Black Island the person who has been ringing the Bell of Wakening is revealed to be Obier, who, being an outsider, is unaffected by the curse. Garudi's forces have also arrived and are fighting against Protectors of the Seal who try to stop Obier. Boakes and Jenoba interfere and the battle drifts away from the bell. Barr, a retired Protector of the Seal, tries to stop Obier but without success. Obier completes the Wakening, until the Bell crystalizes. Aderishia and Sir Rome are unsealed and returned to Dayton castle, where they are met by Raifan and Muha. The God-Killing Dragon Lord is beginning to unseal and Barbas' resurrection is beginning to happen.

God-Killing Dragon Lord and Barbas resurrect above the Meeting Grounds.

　At the Meeting Grounds to gods begin to quarrel. They will no longer be able to control Crystania with the Rule of the Cycle. Fuji suggests they begin anew. She tells the Gods of two keys she has created, Irim and Kirim, who can restore Crystania. At the Black Island Redon is reunited with Obier. Suddenly, from the crystalized Bell of Wakening, a magical two-part door appears and Irim and Kirim, as if controlled, approach it. Redon manages to stop Kirim, but not Irim, who tells Redon they are the Two Keys and its their mission to restore Crystania, the Sacred World, the Seal and the Cycle, before he disappears. The Black Island begins to crumble and the party rushes off the island.

　The God-Killing Dragon Lord has unsealed and has appeared above the Meeting Grounds. Soon after, Barbas' resurrection is also complete and he too appears above the grounds.
